This album is a quick look into my life after I had developed PTSD and chronic psychosis almost immediately after finishing my doctorate in epidemiology.

I was in a meeting with my supervisor when huge, dirty, great big rat-like things started running around. I knew they had appeared to eat me alive from the inside. I also heard five voices telling me what a vile waste of humanity I was and that I should kill myself immediately.

I ran out of the meeting back to my room, where these hallucinations continued. I knew that if I told anyone about what I could see I'd be locked up in a little room forever. After three days of hiding under my bed in my room most of the time, I knew I had to kill myself.

My landlady found me with slashed wrists and I was carted off to hospital and then to the nearest (an hour's drive away from where I lived) psychiatric secure ward. I spent three months in there and only had two visitors during that time.

This album is my attempt to explore, through the medium of music, some of the events that happened to me immediately before and after I lost my marbles. It may give you the slightest beginnings of an idea of how shit, how fucking horribly shit, it is to be profoundly mentally ill.
